What Is UnAMERICAN ?

What is consider un-American ? can one really say . Welllllll ..... In my opinion , cannibalism in un-American . Cannibalism is the act or practice of humans eating the flesh of other human beings . WHERE THEY DO THAT AT ! I can almost guarantee every american thinks this is disgusting. Another act which I think is UN-AMERICAN is dictatorship , in a dictatorship the government is controlled by a person or group . In this form of government the power rest on 1 person of group of people , and can only be obtained by power or inheritance. In American ,  there is a president but they don't have complete control like dictators. I think its not hard to define what is un-American , look around and listen . I think anybody who lives in American can determine what is considered un-American. I think people living in american decide what is un american because who better to say what is and what is not then Americans themselves . So take notes , and do get caught doing anything un-american , or else ........

Blog 1 Chinese Workers - (Lap 5)

Many Chinese migrants made their living as domestic servants , house keepers , running restaurants ,and a wide spectrum of shops, such as food stores, antique shops, jewelers, and imported goods stores.  Chinese also worked in borax and mercury mines , often as seamen on board the ships of American shipping companies or in the consumer goods industry. The Chinese earned low wages , they accepted these wages , because they had to provide for their family . Many Chinese people worked in a life threatening area and at job that was not easily accomplish , they usually required days , and months to complete . On the other hand , The 20th century was a remarkable period for the American worker, as wages rose, fringe benefits grew, and working conditions improved . Over the course of the 20 century , the composition of labor forced shifted from industries dominated by primary production occupations . It went from  farmers and foresters, to those dominated by professional, technical, and service workers.   Female participation also increased , during the 20th century . Child labor was common at the turn of the century, and many families needed the income earned by their children to survive .  The 1900 census counted 1.75 million individuals aged 10 to 15 who were gainful workers .

Young boys lined up , they look like they are between the ages of 6-13 . Their expression
show they are confused and scaried . The boys are shoeless , and all of them
are white . They look like they are listening closely to someone speak .

From Rags To Richies (Wyndaya Harris)

Living in this society someone can go from rags to richies . I think with hard work  and dedication anything is possible . For instance , Oprah Winfrey she was born in Mississippi , growing up she an proverty to an teenage mother and father . She applied herself and is now the richest Africa American woman . I look to her as a idol , if she can do it I CAN TOO .

The Man Slept In The Cellar For Four Years .

The image displays a white man , around the age of 30-35 . He sitting on barrels and a blanket . The man showed on the picture looks lifeless , and depressed . He is wearing raggy clothes , and looks like he haven't washed in days . I am assuming the man is homeless , and sleeps under the cellar .

Culture

Culture influence your life , it shapes the person you are today .  Culture determines how you think , dress , look , and act . Culture made me the person I am today , because growing up my mom and grandmother always pushed me to be the best i can be ,  my family was always supporting and loving . Growing up South Philadelphia , I was always the quiet girl on the block , while my other siblings were always the ones who was outgoing , and knew everyone I always preferred to stay to myself . I always loved school , probably because my grandmom was a teacher a 3rd grade teacher . I think if i grew up in a different culture i would be different . The way i dress , the school I attend , my neighborhood , my thinking my whole entire life would be different .
